The Ferenczy Museum Center’s collection is expanding with forty-three works.
In a unique event in Hungarian museum life, the Ferenczy Museum Center in Szentendre will be enriched with a particularly valuable collection of works of art this year. The 1,422-piece 20th-century and contemporary art collection created by the Hungarian National Bank will be transferred to the Museum of Fine Arts – Hungarian National Gallery and twenty-nine regional institutions. 43 works of art from the collection will be added to the collections of the museums in Szentendre.
After several months of professional consultations, the collection of the Ferenczy Museum Center will be expanded with 43 works that are closely related to the institution’s core collection, and several works that fill gaps will be deposited in Szentendre (works by Dezső Korniss, Ilona Keserü, Tamás Hencze, János Szirtes, Tamás Konok, Dóra Maurer, etc.).
From February 14, 2026, MODEM in Debrecen, which professionally coordinates the distribution of the MNB collection, will present a selection of new MNB acquisitions from regional museums under the title Dynamic Structures, as a continuation of the exhibition Untold Stories, where FMC will be represented by 7 artworks: works by István Nádler, János Szirtes, Dezső Korniss, Ilona Keserű, Endre Hortobágyi, Judit Horváth Lóczi and Márk Fridvalszki.
Opening: February 14. 16:00
Location: MODEM, Debrecen
