Pop-up exhibition: Connections and Reachability

Connections and Reachability: Olivér Gömbös’ Exhibition on the Occasion of World Autism Day

The exhibition will be held between April 2-26.

Connections and Reachability is an inclusive pop-up exhibition on the first floor of the Ferenczy Museum. The exhibition presents the diversity and complexity of human connections, symbolizing the common possibilities of connection despite/in spite of our differences, created in a unique style on Olivér Gömbös’ pyrographic wooden boards.

With his creations, he emphasizes that for all of us, including our neurodiverse fellow human beings, the establishment and maintenance of human connections is fundamentally important. Since we are diverse, we seek ways to connect with each other in many ways. Sometimes we do not approach each other in the usual way, which occurs more often with our autistic fellow human beings, making social integration, understanding and acceptance more difficult. However, with openness to each other, with true understanding, knowledge and acceptance, we can find appropriate ways to connect with each other.

According to Olivér, by patiently searching for a way, paying attention and showing our inner values, we can sooner or later become accessible to each other, just as the different lines and shapes in the priographies can come together, connect and continue in each other through our imagination.

The exhibition will be opened by: Attila Benkó, director of the Kós Károly Cultural House and Library in Budakalász
